Our Purpose
Our lab focuses on the biological response to traumatic injury and transfusion therapy.
We aim to develop novel therapeutics and diagnostics to improve patient outcomes.
Our research is centered around understanding the mechanisms of trauma-induced coagulopathy,
the role of platelets in hemostasis, and the impact of transfusion on patient outcomes.
We utilize a variety of techniques including in vitro assays, animal models, and clinical studies
to investigate these complex interactions. Our goal is to translate our findings into
clinically relevant therapies and diagnostics that can improve the care of trauma patients.
We collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of researchers and clinicians to achieve
these objectives. Our lab is committed to advancing the field of trauma and transfusion medicine
through innovative research and education.
We strive to foster a collaborative and inclusive
environment that encourages creativity and critical thinking. We believe that by working together,
we can make significant contributions to the field and ultimately improve patient care.
Our research is supported by a variety of funding sources including the National Institutes of Health,
the Department of Defense, and private foundations. We are grateful for the support of our funding
agencies and collaborators, which allows us to pursue our research goals. We are also committed
to training the next generation of scientists and clinicians. We provide opportunities for
undergraduate and graduate students, as well as postdoctoral fellows, to gain hands-on experience
in the lab and develop their research skills.
